Significant commercial win for Smiths through its STS Aerospace business
Smiths, the global industrial engineering company, today announced that STS Aerospace, part of its Flex-Tek division, has signed a long term, five year agreement with GE Aerospace.
The contract deepens the longstanding relationship between the two companies and supports some of the most important engine manufacturing programmes in global aviation.
Under the agreement, STS Aerospace will supply hundreds of assemblies used across GE Aerospace’s key commercial and defence-related engine fleets. These engines power tens of thousands of aircraft worldwide and are relied upon by major commercial airlines, cargo operators, business aviation fleets and defence customers in more than 100 countries.
STS Aerospace will provide highly engineered flexible and hybrid hose assemblies that ensure the reliable flow of critical fluids across the aircraft fleet. These systems play an essential role in engine performance, aircraft reliability and overall operational safety. Through this collaboration, STS Aerospace will help ensure continued engine reliability, operational readiness, and lifecycle support for global operators.
Mike Stern, President of Flex-Tek Aerospace, said: “We are proud to extend our long standing partnership with GE Aerospace. This agreement is a strong vote of confidence in our expertise. Our teams play a vital role in supporting high performance engine platforms that operators around the world depend on every day. We look forward to building on this customer partnership and continuing to deliver the high integrity, engineered solutions to our customers that we are known for.”
As global air travel continues to grow and defence operators focus on fleet preparedness, this agreement strengthens STS Aerospace’s position at the centre of a dynamic and mission critical segment of the aerospace market.
